I think it is silly. It does't require skill and just wastes time for no extra benefit.

You don't get any nice consumables. I will be getting a stainless item from this run. I have already done all the other types for the tats and I will alternate between hoxy and normal until I have all the shiny items then just go pure normal for a bit and then hoxy for the rewards.

I'm coming off of a hco run that I got into a month and a half ago when I was considering taking a long break from KoL... of course, my "long" break was 3 days and I decided to just do gourdcore and GMS. This run has been long becuase of school, but my first hco wasn't bad at all. I'm considering just doing hc continuously (11+ runs) to get one of each of the rewards.

I've been working at a summer camp for the past couple months, and given the lack of time for KOL, its been perfect for HCO runs. Coming out of my third one tonight or tomorrow.

And hi Image Image
As soon as I'm home in a couple weeks I think I've found a nice place to talk about KOL.

HOxy is a great place to refine strategies as your lack of turns requires more concetration in where you spend them.

So, after I finish my AT HCO run in about a week, which class should I go for next? Sauceror or Pastamancer? Those are the last two I need to go through to get the last of the plexiglass equipment. And which AT buff should I make HC perma? My thought right now is moxious madrigal simply for how cheap an effective it is.

Yeah, Pastamancer is best unless you see yourself really needing elemental resistance in the lategame. The pocketwatch is love.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The very last level of the sorceress' tower contains an enraged cow. I've now wasted 60~ adventures trying to get a barbed-wire fence, and will now need to waste more adventures tomorrow trying to get one.

I hope you are going to get the wand and zap a white picket fence because you would already have that fence by now.

Unfortunately I don't have one, since I never bother going to Whitey's. That is an interesting alternative. Since the shore isn't doing so hot for me now, I may as well try that tomorrow. Thanks for the idea, and thanks again for buying me the nutcracker while I'm in HC.

It takes a handful of turns at Whitey's now. It should take you no more than 30 turns to get a wand all up and requires 6k meat.

I only went whiteys 1 time, after I spent a ton of time at the shore. If you've been going there I think you should just stick with it.

It took me 5/47 turns to get the picket fence. I figured I was fine since I had already unlocked the dungeons of doom, but, sadly, I was being too optimistic, and the remaining 42 adventures failed to yield a wand.

Blarg, finally. At least it only took 5 of my adventures today, so I had plenty of time to kill the NS. Break time for me. I think I'll to a no-path HC pastamancer run before I polish off the last two HCOs...

Sauceror and Pastamancer. After this no path I think I'll take leash of linguini with me, then do my HCO pastamancer run and get pastamastery. Then I'll go through my Sauceror HCO run and be able to summon reagents. Not sure if I'll then go for all the stainless steel items afterwords, or stick with softcore for a while and cook chow mein

Wow, you're just now getting to Advanced Saucecrafting? Congratulations -- I know that I had a devil of a time in my early hardcore runs getting through the Beanstalk zones without running on reagent potions. Potions get a bit obsolete with enough permanent skills, but I still like them for easing boss fights and the HitS. Good luck with your remaining runs!

I've never had a tough time with high level fights, I just use disco face stab on anything that's overly powerful. After 2-3 they can't hit me anyway, so they're a little more convenient the potions.

*Is probably the only person on earth that had disco face stab as their first HC permed skill*

I have a multi who permed that first. I've sort of gotten out of using it now, but it got me through the first few crappy runs pretty well...

Well, I put it off for a while, in the form of getting a couple stainless items first, but I'm finally getting starting on my HCO Sauceror run to run out my plexi collection.

Yeah, that's kind of the place I'm in; I'm starting into the endgame on my last HCO run, as a Sauceror. Aside from probably ascending Mystical next for maximum use of the pinky ring, I'm not sure what to do. I'm really tempted to kick back, take a break, and spend a run acquiring some trophies...

Does anyone have a schematic for just how long powerlevelling to level 30 would take, assuming a reasonable but not superhuman level of funds? It'd be sort of nice to recognize my roots with Tsar of Turtles, but on the other hand, talk about a time commitment.

As a Mus sign, about a day. Use the Gallery and lots of clovers - it'll cost less than 1mil in total (food/drink/clovers), I think.

It caps at about 300, so it'd take about 2000 turns or so without using a stat day. Moxie and myst classes are stuck with the castle til about level 25 or so where the super gyms take over, I think for them 3-4 weeks sounds about right.

clovers at the library, and dance cards are better than the castle... especially since you can use the louvre and dance card every 4 adventures

Don't see anything wrong with that?
How about that I spent only 500k to do it, and it only took 262 clover turns at the gallery?

That account has 330 full muscle points, fer chrissake. This is not right.

Level 19 in one day. Given that the rate of stat gains decreases with increased level, it'll probably take another day and a half to gain the remaining 11 levels. So two or two and a half days?

I wasn't that far out ;-)

I honestly don't know why I forgot about those, but at the cost of around 4000 clovers the library is getting kind of expensive.

Level 1 to 330 full stat points takes 108,900(minus what you start with) sub stats while going from level 11 to 30 takes 703,209 substats, so it'll take a little less than 7 times longer on a stat day. Since you wont be able do it all in 2 stat days I'd think 5 days using awesome food and some turn banking would be an absolute minimum.

I really didn't know that it would take that long... wow. Assuming you banked for Mus day (say 450 advs the first day, 350 the next, 800 total), and got the max of 400 stats/adv, you wouldn't even get close. By my calculations, you need something like 1750 advs in total at 400 stats/adv... but you can only get that on Mus day... so probably more like 2000 advs in total... so, yeah, about five days.

Still, if you've got the meat and you're Mus class, it's by far the easiest and fastest method.
